What is the Hospitality Suite?

A Hospitality Suite is a large room where people can just relax and chill out with friends, old and new, and have something to eat or drink; it’s the central hub for an RG.

Here, you will find plenty of food and drink throughout the weekend. Snacks of all types (chocolate, other healthy food, some “unhealthy” food, did I say chocolate?) are available 24/7 along with water and soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages are available for those 21 and over (typically beer, wine, and wine coolers).

This is also where meals are served (unless otherwise indicated). Don’t know anyone? This is a great way to meet new people in a relaxed setting and just “chillax.”

What is a Regional Gathering?

A Regional Gathering (RG) is a weekend-long event (usually Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon) held by one or more local groups of Mensa where approximately 150-200 or more Mensans and their guests descend for a great time.

Throughout the weekend, there are talks and presentations given on all manner of topics (from trivial to political, spiritual to current events, and everything in between), loads of games available for playing in our well-stocked games room, and a 24/7 Hospitality Suite.

We have some exciting plans for 2016! And, of course, as we line up our presenters and programs, we’ll list those on the blog.
